With reference to my write-up “A recap of 2015”, (see here), I have mentioned that I have done several “firsts” on the media front in 2015 such as appear on TV, Channel NewsAsia; comments featured on Bloomberg, Business Times, Today etc. In January 2016, I am delighted to have another two “firsts” in the media space.
18 Jan 2016 – 1st time on FM95.8
I was invited by Mary Bukoh 巫许玛莉 to do an evening wrap up on the market developments and my views on the market. I have heard 巫许玛莉 shows when she was still a Deejay with FM933 in the early 2000. Thus, I was naturally excited and happy to do the evening wrap up. Although, the market wrap lasted only a few minutes, it was challenging as I have to say everything in mandarin, especially the financial terms. I believe I need to go for some courses to brush up my business Chinese. 🙂
27 Jan 2016 – 1st time on Inside INVEST
I was invited by Shareinvestor to be featured on Inside INVEST on my comments on some stocks. This was their 2nd issue as they started the 1st issue in Aug 2015. Inside INVEST is distributed together with The Straits Times newspaper 27 Jan 2016, and their circulation is around 100,000 copies. This is good exposure for me as I seldom / don’t appear on the Straits Times.
In a nutshell…
Although the market has been pretty challenging for January, I am fortunate to have good friends in the media and will continue to provide unique insights in small mid-caps in Singapore. As of now, I still believe that there are opportunities in our Singapore market as long as we put in enough hard work and efforts! Gambatte!
