Tianjin Pharma – A potential undervalued company, net cash; rides on favourable tailwinds (24 Dec 22)

Dear all Last Friday, personal protection equipment (“PPE”) and glovemakers rallied as much as 3% – 36% in a single day (See Table 1 below). This outperformance may be attributed to concerns that the Covid situation in China may worsen with more infections, or may cause the appearance of new variants, which may spur demand for gloves and personal protection equipment. Table 1: SG glovemakers and PPE share price performance on Friday Source: Ernest’s manual compilations 23 Dec 22 Personally, besides PPE and glovemakers which may benefit, Tianjin Pharmaceutical Da Ren Tang Group (“T14”) may be another potential and perhaps […]

REC Insights Part 2 of 3: This undervalued property cluster may be the next gem (4 Jul 2019)

This write-up was reproduced with permission from Ray’s Estate Clinic, written by Founder, Raymond Chng. Please refer to the below for more information on Raymond. After much hesitation in publishing this article, I was persuaded by clients to share my views about the next big location to buy real estate. So much hype has been in locations like Marine Parade and Jurong. For those who are familiar with the investment logic –“be fearful when others are greedy”, I am cautious over buying properties in areas with hype. Buying a property is easy but selecting the right property is not. When […]

S&P500, Nasdaq and Russell 2000 hit records, time to switch to underperforming markets? (24 Aug 18)

Dear all, S&P500, Nasdaq and Russell 2000 hit records last Friday with S&P500 closing at 2,875. However, our STI has dropped 11.8% after hitting a decade high of 3,642 on 2 May 2018. This seems to be the question on most investors’ minds as I am also posed this question during a live interview on Money FM89.3 on last Thursday. Let’s take a closer […]
