GSS Energy chart 24 Sep 21

GSS Energy looks interesting; key level for potential bullish breakout is at $0.075 (27 Sep 2021)

Dear all Of late, GSS Energy (“GSS”) has caught my attention. It has dipped from an intraday high of $0.083 on 17 Sep 2021 and has weakened to $0.072 on 24 Sep 2021. This weakness may be attributed to profit taking and contra players exiting or rolling their positions. 24 Sep is T+5 of its high-volume day on 17 Sep. My personal guess is that most of the contra players may have already exited (i.e., selling may have been largely exhausted). It may be time to relook into GSS Energy. Let’s take a look.   Basis a) E mobility business […]

This write-up was reproduced in entirety with permission from Ray’s Estate Clinic, written by Founder, Raymond Chng. Please refer to the end of the article for more information on Raymond. In the previous 2017 En-bloc cycle, some resale properties in En-bloc hotspots saw price gains of up to 28%. (We wrote articles about these moves in a previous article, you can read about it HERE) Image 1: Enbloc Cycle Timeline, Source: JLL Given that En-bloc cycles tend to be 5 to 6 years apart, and the start of the last En-bloc cycle was in 2017, the next En-bloc cycle could […]

Since 2018, we have been sharing with our clients and readers that resale properties are good options. Today, as of the date of writing, there are still a handful of readers asking us if resale properties can be profitable. The simple answer is – Yes! There are considerations that property buyers should note about New Launch properties, in particular for HDB upgraders. Most HDB upgraders who are selling off their BTOs would […]

Navigating Depressions and Great Recessions (Real Estate Edition, 8 May 20)

This write-up was reproduced with permission from Ray’s Estate Clinic, written by Founder, Raymond Chng. Please refer to the end of the article for more information on Raymond. We are currently in unprecedented times (as of writing in April 2020). Covid-19 is upon us as a global pandemic which will go down in history books as the gravest health crisis mankind ever faced in this century. Over the past few weeks, I had the fortune to converse and interview numerous Seniors (our Merdeka & Pioneer Generation) whom I knew for some time already. The wiser generation I interviewed range from […]

Why Property Investors should look at the Private Resale Condo Segment (11 April 2020)

This write-up was reproduced with permission from Ray’s Estate Clinic, written by Founder, Raymond Chng. Please refer to the end of the article for more information on Raymond. With the record number of new launch properties on the market in 2019 and 2020, all eyes have been on the new launch segment of the property market. Some new property buyers believe that they should buy new properties because they would be buying at the lowest price in the development, and therefore are more likely to make profits when the property obtains TOP. These same property buyers are afraid of buying […]

10 things you must know when upgrading from HDB to private (1st October 2019)

This write-up was reproduced with permission from Ray’s Estate Clinic, written by Founder, Raymond Chng. Please refer to the end of the article for more information on Raymond. The decision to upgrade from a HDB to a private property whether a condominium or landed property is a big decision to many, over the past few years, I have had many clients ask me for my opinions and particularly if they should upgrade. Many HDB owners upgrade because they are fearful of their HDB price being stagnant. The worst thing that can happen is a HDB owner to upgrade into a […]

Chart 1_record order book as of 10 Aug 2018

ISOTeam trades near 4 year low despite record order books and bright outlook (10 Jan 19)

ISOTeam (“ISO”) caught my attention. Despite sitting on a record order book, ISO has tumbled approximately 44% from an intra-day high of $0.385 on 10 Apr 2018 to close near a four year low at around $0.215 on 10 Jan 2019. The share price decline was attributable in part to its 4QFY18 surprise loss announced in Aug 2018 (financial year ends in Jun). Nevertheless, my gut feel is that 4QFY18 should mark the trough in earnings and results should improve on a quarter on quarter basis in the next few quarters. As this company is a potential turnaround play, I […]

SIA Engineering analyst target 26 Dec 18

SIA Engineering trades at 9-year low price and 10-year low valuations (26 Dec 18)

SIA Engineering (“SIE”) catches my attention this week because 1) Share price has fallen to the lows last seen in May 2009 – 9 +year low with negative news, more or less well known. It last trades at $2.20 on 26 Dec 2018. Based on Maybank’s report out this month, SIE management has flagged out challenges in their industry approximately two years ago –> on lower maintenance frequency required by newer aircraft and fleet growth at low cost carriers (“LCC”) requiring SIE to think of new solutions to reduce aircraft downtime at hangars; 2) At $2.20, RSI last trades at […]

Sunpower – price action & bullish divergence warrant a closer look (20 Dec 18)

Dear readers, Some of you have sent me emails to express concerns whether I am still maintaining my blog, as I have not posted an article in the past couple of months. (My clients are still receiving some periodic short writeups on the market and specific companies during this period) Anyway, I am glad to be back to work this week! This week, Sunpower’s […]

Chart 3 Sunpower chart 24 Oct 18

Sunpower slips into bear market territory – Buying opportunity or falling knife? (24 Oct 18)

This week, Sunpower attracts me due partly to the industry which it is in; the recent US$180m investments made by DCP and CDH into Sunpower whose market cap is only around US$206m, and the considerable 40% share price decline since hitting an intra-day high of $0.645 on 28 Jun 2018 to trade $0.385 today. Let’s take a look.   Description of Sunpower Based on Sunpower’s description, it is an environmental protection solutions specialist in proprietary energy saving and clean power technologies. It has two main business segments, viz. Manufacturing & Services (“M&S”) and Green Investments (“GI”). M&S segment comprise of […]
